I can't imagine a crescent being good for anything other than the
old square type gear box drains.

Over the years and through many estate sales I've managed to wind up
with about every size Crescent (the branded ones) from 3" to 36".
Until you get to the ones that open past 1", I agree that they are the
best tool made for rounding heads and busting knuckles but the big
ones are a must in heavy pipe and farm applications. I never have
figured out what the 3" one can do better than a pair of pliers.

the problem with a crescent is they have an angle on the jaws. If they
ever figured out that they could have them straight, they'd quit stripping
bolts...they make them angled for leverage....go figue.....I think crescent
owns a bolt company too.....
