Please, no flames, but my 2001 TJ has had engine knock since day one.
It would go away with higher octane fuel but that became costly.
When my scheduled plug replacement came due I opted for the platinum
plugs. Voila! No more ping with the 87 octane swill they sell in
ABQ.

You ask us not to flame you, then you tell us the biggest f**kin'
lie I have ever heard. I guess a plug could cause preignition if it were
the wrong spark plug, with a way too hot heat range! Total Bullsh*t! I
hope you got the right heat range this time, like if it's too cold,
it'll misfire, washing the oil from your cylinders, diluting your oil,
destroying what's left of your engine.
