Electrical Gremlins...need HELP!

Diagnos this one...:
1984 CJ7
Have turn signals in the rear of the Jeep only, and ONLY when the
parking/headlights are OFF

When the are ON, only the RIGHT turn signal works, the left turn signal does
not work at all when the lights are on.

Both front parking lights (double as turn signals) work perfect and stay on
when the lights are on (but no turn signals).

Stranges damn thing.

Re: Electrical Gremlins...need HELP!

It sounds like the left turn signal lights are missing their ground, or have
a weak ground.

Re: Electrical Gremlins...need HELP!

Why would they work with the lights off though. The fronts don't work at all
but the parking lights do and both filiments in the bulbs are perfect. The
rears work all the time when the lights are off. It's just that left one
that doesn't work when the lights are on.
Strange.

Need some more info to start with:

Do the front turn signals work at all?
What is the voltage at the bulbs when the turn signals are on?
Do you hear the turn signal relay clicking when the headlights are off?
Do you hear the turn signal relay clicking when the headlights are on?
Does the left brake light work when the headlights are on?
