Or if your handy with electronics, install a tiny switch on the inside
that disconnects the door switch. No pulling fuses, wires, etc.

Sheesh, doesn't anyone read their owner's manual any more? The TJ is
already set up with a solution so the dome light doesn't illuminate when the
doors are off... just remove fuse #4 as the owner's manual describes. The
benefit to the factory solution is that you can still turn on the dome light
with the dashlight dimmer control after fuse #4 has been pulled.
