Do I need to change diff ratio..
I am building up my 01 TJ and have gotten super advice from the group.
Right now I run a hair under 2200 RPM's (Approx), in fifth, with 3.73 gears
at 65 MPH. Rear diff is a Dana 44. I have 30" stock tires now. When I go
to 33" tires will I need to go to 4.11 or maybe 4.56, or can I stay at 3.73.
I don't think I should because my RPM's will be below 2000 at 65, I
believe. Is my thinking correct on this? I will be mostly "on road",
sometimes on long trips on the highway. But I want good off road manners
also.

With 33's you may be ok with the 3.73's and you may want to run it that way
for awhile to see how you like it. It will be very noticeable vs. 30" tires.
The comparative jump to 4.10s or 4.56s will be very noticeable with 33s, in
fact on my 94 YJ 4.10s and 33s were virtually perfect, plenty of reduction
for off roading and a great cruising gear. It's got 4.88s and 35s now and
probably can stand a jump to 37s before a re-gear.
