Hi Paul,
I use thin film of silicone on both sides of the gasket, of course.
It's important the gasket surfaces be clean with no residue such as
gasoline, that some use to clean, I use denatured alcohol. There
automatic gaskets that are put dry, clean of course. On my 9" I use kite
string, on a dry surface, just take a wrap around each stud.

NOW changing fluid....WAS Differential Gasket???
 
Does anyone successfully use those oil extractors instead of removing the
covers all of the time?
Currently dealing with 4 Jeeps and I don't relish always having to remove
and install the diff covers. :-)
