Well then, it's settled, he has a D30 front and an AMC20 rear. I actually
think you are mistaken though, I think the D44 on the rear is possible in
the early 70s as an option. I could be wrong on that, but I don't think so.

You are correct, D44 rears were common on 1975 CJ-5's and earlier years.

He's not mistaken. The only CJ-7s with Dana 44 were in 1986. There were
no CJ-7s in the early 70s.
