Hi Nathan,
Could be related as the engine now has to use five horsepower to
continually charge the battery as it's probably not capable of holding a
full charge any more. Anyway, the step Motor is responsible for speeding
up your engine to compensate for that and such things as running your
air conditioner compressor. So clean it and the Throttle Position
Sensor: http://members.***.net/wilsond/tb/tb.html
