Re: Colorado Jeep trails book
I don't believe that there is anything near as comprehensive as Robert Ormes
"Guide to the Colorado Mountains" for 4x4 trails. This page has a good
selection however http://4x4books.com/co.htm . Also consider Don Koch's The
Colorado Pass Book: A Guide to Colorado's Backroad Mountain Passes.

Re: Colorado Jeep trails book
I have Vol. I, in fact I am looking for it today! It is well worth the
purchase price. I can't vouch for all the trails, but the description of
Poughkeepsie Gulch was right on, and most of the information about the
Silverton area agrees with what I see up here. By the way, my friends
Caroline at the Silverton Coffee Mine and Wily at Outdoor World have most of
these books in stock. Now where did I put that thing, one of these days I
am going to get organized...
The DeLORME Colorado Atlas & Gazetteer is a Must Have too. Also, ask the
locals about any trail if you get a chance. They usually know stuff that
isn't in the books. Remember, any road in Colorado can be a Jeep trail with
the right weather conditions...
