CJ taillight not fused?
Trying to troubleshoot a sudden electrical problem on my 83 CJ-7. Is it
common for the tail lights / park lights to not be on a fuse? With all of
the fuses pulled I still get tail lights. Something has been draining the
battery, and I suspect it is being drained even with all of the fuses
pulled.

Re: CJ taillight not fused?
The fuse is usually a breaker switch that sits on the light switch.
Unless you can't turn your light off, then that's not your problem. A
leak big enough to discharge your batter is usually a bad diode in your
alternator, disconnect it's battery wire and put a vote meter in-between
to see if it's leaking.

Re: CJ taillight not fused?
The running lights and headlights are on a fuse link wire off the
solenoid post on the fender.
On sneaky battery 'drain' on my CJ7 is a polished up fan belt. The
sucker looks good and is tight, but the sides get polished up so it
slips. This only puts about a third of a charge into the battery so it
will start die after a cold night.
I test mine by seeing if I can hand slip the alternator pulley on a cold
off engine. If I can hand slip it, it is a dead belt. The alternator
takes several HP to spin up under load.

I do not believe that breaker affects the running lights Bill. I think
it's only the headlights on the breaker. Both are on the fuse link
though.
