IIRC, my RE kit came with a spacer that went on the inside next to the
flange, and the new link slid on next to it.

Why does the bolt need to come out?

In the pic, the bolt that goes through the axle flange threads into the
pin that the end link slips on. This is a new bolt, so that means the
old one must come out. Wont have a chance to snap a pic of the actual
stubborn bolt until this weekend, too cold and dark outside after work.
