cherokee engine removal help?
im in the process of pulling the motor (4.0 fuel injected) out of a
wrecked cherokee, i have all the electrical disconnected/ marked, all
the hoses done the same, tranny and transfer case are out, cherry
picker and load leveler ready, and now....
where do i hook on to the engine to pull it out of the body? i feel
kinda silly having to ask what i thought would be obvious, but ive
never done this (only pulled beetle motors before).
do i need to buy some bolts (and what size if needed?) to screw into
the block somewhere, or is there a spot that will take the weight i can
attach the chains to?
any help would be appreciated, and i remember many from this forum from
years ago who will no doubt help a semi intelligent jeep fella out(Jo,
Bill, Mike, Yuccaman(sp?) been a long time and too many i know i will
remember as this project continues)

Re: cherokee engine removal help?
As I recall the driver's side head bolts front and rear are extra long and
could be used with another nut securing a chain.

Both lift bolts are on the driver side of the valve cover.
at the very ends of the engine. You will need a nut and a
metal tab.
