Check Engine Code Question - 97 Wrangler
Hi,
My check engine light came on. Codes of 12 43 55.
What does this mean?
What are the typical causes?
Is this an easy fix?
thanks,
Paul

The only code it there that means anything is 43
12 means the battery was disconnected sometime within the
last fifty starts and 55 is the end-of-codes marker.
43 - Misfire detected in one or more cylinders 1 thru 6.
Could be anything from a bad tank of gas(low octane/water) to
crossfire in the ignition. Try putting some fuel system cleaner
in there for the next tank, Chevron Techron is a good brand.

Re: Check Engine Code Question - 97 Wrangler
time for new plugs? wires? Go to auto zone... you may have a code that
will tell you which plug(s).
