Carter 2BBL Throttle Body Rebushing Recommendation
For those of you have have Carter 2BBL carbs, I just want to pass on a great
company that does throttle body rebushings. The Throttle shaft bore on my
90 YJ has worn enough to cause a vacuum leak. I sent the throttle body off
to BFIC CarbsOnly (www.carbsonly.com), and they drilled it out and put in
new bronze bushing in my throttle body (my shaft had mild wear and was still
usable). I sent them the entire tottle body, shaft and all. They did the
work for $56 plus shipping. They are located in Burbank CA.
I installed my rebuilt throttle body this weekend, adjusted the idle mixture
and idle speed. Now for once my computer controlled carb idles nice and
smooth! Talked to Carlos. While on the phone he told me that BFIC did the
carb work for the Cuda's on the old Nash Bridges TV show. Thought that was
interesting.
