Calm down. It's usenet. Group name means nothing anymore. It use to
back in the early to late 90's... but when the masses got access, it all
went to hell.

If you get a newsreader that has kill-file capability, you can quickly
weed out the majority of the crap you're talking about by putting in one
or two names.

I suggest XanaNews. It works pretty well for me. You can kill a thread
or a poster.
