A/C Leaking into Passenger Floorboard?
I think I'm getting A/C moisture on the passenger side of my Jeep (the
bottom of my Husky Liner was wet). I think I may have read somewhere that
air pressure may be affecting the A/C drain and that placing an elbow on it
will correct the issue. Anyone else experience this and/or have a
suggestion for corrective action? I'm in South Texas, so running without the
A/C is not an option. :-)
Thank you in advance for your help.

Maybe an elbow extension will help you, but most likely that little
rubber reed valve, like that of a whoopee cushion is glued shut with
mold, it should be pocking through the firewall behind the engine if
it's Wrangler you're talking about, The Cherokee's directed towards
rusting inside of the frame rail out. Anyway just squeezing it with your
fingers is usually enough have it **** on you and it work for another
couple of months.

Re: A/C Leaking into Passenger Floorboard?
There is a TSB out on this problem. I think it is a free fix at the dealer.
TSB #24-012-01 - September 01 - Evaporator Drain Tube - Water Leaks Onto
Passenger Floor
http://www.alldata.com/TSB/04/990406D2.html
The AC evaporator drain tube sticks straight out into the engine compartment
on the passenger side near the battery. First, check to see if it is
clogged, and clean if necessary.
If it is not clogged and water still leaks into the passenger compartment,
it's usually because water is being splashed back around the drain tube
seal, especially at freeway speeds. The fix is to install a small "L" bend
tube which points straight down. The water then drains properly without
splash back.

I have a 99 TJ and had the same problem. I learned in this forum how
to fix the problem. I took a piece of fuel line or heater hose or
garden hose, (can't remember which it was),
and glued it to the hard little drain pipe that sticks out of the
firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment. I just
wiggled it over the pipe and I used silicone to glue it and piece of
hose just needs to be long enough to prevent air from pushing the
condensation back into the cabin.
