Bullseye Brake Lamp
I have a 98 Cherokee sport that the "bulls eye" brake light is out.
It's not the bulb, or the connectors. The interior roof lights, the
rear window defroster work. They are also contained in that wire
harness, that's starts in back of the panel behind the spare tire, and
goes up under the moldings. I don't get any continuity from the plug
behind the spare or the ground. It seems strange that the ground and
the 12v are open. Any ideas? Merry Xmas Dave

Re: Bullseye Brake Lamp
Have you checked that the button connectors near the hinge on the
tailgate are not corroded? I had the same problem with my Wrangler that
was cured by using a small wire brush to clean them off. These are what
connect the 3rd brakelight to the brakelight circuit when the tailgate
is closed. There are four connectors that should be cleaned... two on
both sides that make contact when the tailgate is closed.
