Broken Sway Bar Link update & help

So I ordered the part from rubicon recyclers on ebay for $40.
I went to take off the broken one till the new one gets here and the
nut at the top turns, the threads don't (good sign) but nothing
happens!! Strange. The bolt must be broken inside the collar but WHY
wouldn't the threads turn with the nut then???

It's a tapered fitting, that's why the stud doesn't turn. But you are
probably going to have to cut or grind the nut off. Best to remove the whole
swaybar for that, it's not too hard.

Yup, I would agree there. He might be able to put a thin screwdriver
under the nut and twist to lift the nut as he tries to turn it.
