broken bolt in frame
The bolt underneath the rear crossmember broke. So I hit it with a
punch so I could drill it out but then nut that was welded inside the
frame popped out. DOH!~
I'm installing a rear bumper and that hole is one of the mounting
points.
Anyone ever use a self tapping bolt with successs in the frame?
I was thinking of this instead of paying someone to weld a bolt into
the hole so I can mount the bumper
Any ideas and thoughts are much appreciated.

Re: broken bolt in frame
You could just get a new nutsert for it. I have tapped into my xj "frame"
successfully but a nutsert is an easier better fix.
