There are lots of guys on this forum that have 250-300k on their 4 liter
engines, just remember to change the oil and filter every 3k if you want to keep the Jeep forever. And yes, sometimes Dad's do know something.... you pick up a lot of stuff if you live long enough.... Jeff, My Cherokees 4.0 finally started rattling a rod bearing after
about 300,000 miles of hard driving with oil changes that were not as regular as they should have been. I put a top quality rebuilt engine in it and am going for 600,000, it's the best car I've ever had. I'm also a LOT more careful about the oil changes, and using better oil. it .. but you know... I find a way to tell myself that it can go another month.. or two.
