Bill, you were right
Well, today I did it. I broke my Dana 35. Holy smokes. What a PITA! I
think I somehow messed up the locker in the process (won't quite lock
anymore -- seems to be always ratcheting). *sigh*
Anyhow, I'm not locking that 35 ever again -- I kept the spider gears and
will be putting them back in this week. I'm going to lock the front and be
done with it until I can afford/find a good deal on an 8.8/D44/9".
Never would've thought that puny 2.5L could've done that. And I wasn't
being too hard on the throttle.
I'll post links to the photos when I get them uploaded. You'll love it --
involves two winches, a hi-lift, two bottle jacks, and a tire. We were
going for the darwin award -- but are still alive.

What size tires are you running? What kind of locker? What were you
doing? I'm concerned because I've got a D35 on 33's.

Re: Bill, you were right
I'm running 33's and a D35. The locker was a lock-right from powertrax (or
so I think...).
Be careful if you're wheeling any rocks. If I'd have been locked in the
front I'd have been ok. But the rear was doing all of the work. I was
turning and going up a ledge when it broke. Ugly stuff.
