best state in US to by a used jeep
I fancy an air / road trip from home in Chicago. I also want to buy another
jeep for a reasonable price. Is there a state where market forces cause the
Jeeps to be reasonably priced? I really would like another cj5 or cj7 in
good condition.
--
When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at
his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it.
Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was
not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.

Best place to buy a CJ is in Texas or the Southwest. Usually rust-free. As
for pricing, they virtually all go strictly on condition. No rust = $. Seems
fair.

I've seen allot of good (no Rust) ones come out of Nevada, Arizona, New
Mexico and Commiefornia. The Good thing about Jeeps from Commiefornia is
they usually have most of the emission stuff intact. It would be easier to
pass smog in Chicago..

Re: best state in US to by a used jeep
Join some of the mailing lists and ask the Jeepers in the rust-free areas to
look for a CJ for you.
If you buy it old enough then you can get AV plates and don't have to worry
about the E-tests. ;-)
Some restrictions are on the AV plates though.
You can also look on Ebay to get an idea on prices and places.
