Belt problems
Hi guys,
I haven't posted for a while, but I have come accross a new one. The
serpentine belt on my 91 XJ 4.0 has been squeeking when cold, so I
decided to investigate this morning.
It turns out that the threaded piece that the adjuster goes through is
broken! This is the piece that has two holes, one above and
perpendicular to the other. The adjusting bold goes through the bottom
hole and the lower pump attachement bolt goes through the top.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Can I get one from the dealer or am I
looking at an entire bracket? The parts counter won't be open until
Monday, so I'm stuck for now.
I have a rather poor picture of the thing if anyone wants to see it.
Thanks in advance,
David

That's just to set the tension, the bolts behind the ps pump hold
the load. It is usually loose (on mine at least) Odds are the dealer will
try to hit you up for an entire braket. Might be better off at the
junkyard
