Re: the whining loser is back
Although I wouldn't have said it as forcefully as Jeff did, I must agree
with some of his points. When I read the first post from Nathan saying he was back in North Carolina, I couldn't believe it. I had to read and re-read the post to be sure I was reading it correctly. To pack up your entire family and possessions, then drive 2500 miles only to turn around just a few miles from your destination is UNBELIEVABLE to me. What the heck!! How can you and your wife decide not to go just the few more miles because of truck problems, which have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the new location, new job, new city, new state, new home, new life out west, etc.? Seems like the sensible and logical thing to do would have been to continue the last few miles and "stick it out" rather than turn around and drive another 2500 miles back to NC. If the truck could make it 2500 miles back to NC, it could also have made it the few more miles to your original destination. Seems like trying out the new location and new job for a year or so would have been the sensible, logical, and adult thing to do. I think there were underlying issues about the move that we don't know about. Did Nathan and his wife REALLY want to move? Doesn't seem like it. Also, it does seem like whenever Nathan is here, the entire newsgroup revolves around Nathan and his problems. Hope things go better in the future. I also hope you will take some advice from an old fart as constructive: Your "adventure" with Chrysler affected all of us, and many of us tried to help, but you wouldn't (or couldn't) take our advice to retain counsel which had disasterous results for you. When you decided to move to cowboy country many questioned your decision to use U-Haul and kindly suggested that it was a false economy. Again, you wouldn't (or couldn't) take that advice with a bad result. Perhaps that is why your return to the newsgroup is receiving a negative reaction from some quarters. It's probably best to keep personal issues off the newsgroup and stick to jeeping. (You can always discuss personal things privately with the friends you meet here.) Nathan:
I think the word "unbelievable" was the wrong word for me to use. I DO believe that this all happened to you. Please change the word "unbelievable" to "not understandable." I still can't understand how turning around and driving 2500 miles back to NC, was a better choice than driving the relatively few more miles to your original destination. Tom "Nathan W.
