Hi Dave,
Weird, I've never seen a tooth just give a little, once mine break,
they're broke out, must be something wrong with that gear's harding
process.

I've never seen a cracked tooth hold together, either. But it sure is
clear why that sucker howls!. Hopefully, the idler gear is in better
shape.

We use to remove the weak points the idler, and first gear, it
really was something coming home from the ARMY and seeing double A Top
Fuel start up on the line, heat up the tires then be able to backup to
the starting line. We used have to push the car:
