Re: Add MP3 play w/o screwing up anything
If your factory player has an AUX input (line level), you can use any
MP3 player that has a line level output. Check the back of your factory
unit for this input.
It is best to find an MP3 player with a dedicated line level output to
plug into the aforementioned input. In many instances, you can use the
HEADPHONE output from your MP3 player, HOWEVER, it is not quite a line
level output, though it is fairly close. The downside to using the
HEADPHONE out is that the volume level will be lower on your MP3 (AUX)
setting and when you go back to FM, you might blast yourself and
speakers a bit. Just remember to turn the volume down before going back
to your CD or AM/FM settings.

Re: Add MP3 play w/o screwing up anything
There are changers that will connect to the stock stereo. There are also
cables that will turn the CD changer input to aux inputs so you could plug
in an iPod or something like that. Check out Crutchfield.
You have many options.

Re: Add MP3 play w/o screwing up anything
You can get a FM transmitter for an iPod. Then all you have to do is
tune the radio of whatever vehicle you're in to the station and enjoy.
I can't remember where I saw it or who makes it. Hope this helps.

I don't see the words "off-roading" or "gearhead" anywhere in the
newsgroup title. I see "Jeep". That is pretty open.
