For the cost and bother (and limited range) you might want to look
at an aftermarket that has longer range and even remote start.
Clifford makes a nice unit starting at a base of around $500.
The remote is two-way and has a range of nearly 1500ft.

came with two (black and gray) that each interfaced with the personalized
settings if you had memory seats.
The programming must be done at the dealership.
