98 wrangler power distrabution center problem
I have a 98 wrangler with a few problems.I keep blowing the F 19 fuse
in the power distrabution center under the hood cant figure out what it
does dealer wont give me an answer can anyone tell me what this fuse
controls.also trany bangs when I put it in reverse have not changed the
fluid and filter yet any sugg.....

Fuse 19 in the PDC feeds the A/C compessor clutch relay which in turn
powers the A/C clutch. You should be able to disconnect the wire at the A/C
clutch and see if the fuse still blows. If it doesn't blow with the clutch
disconnected I would assume you have a bad clutch. If it still blows with
the clutch disconnected I would look for a short to ground on the feed wire
to the clutch or possibly a bad relay.

That's the same wire that runs between the high pressure and low pressure
cutout switches. While I've never heard of a switch failing to ground
I suppose anything is possible. You need the wiring diagram to chase
down the short.

Nope. It runs from fuse 19 through the A/C relay directly to the A/C
clutch. The wire is Dk Blu/Blk.
While I've never heard of a switch failing to ground

There are no switches involved.

Not really. The wire in question runs from the A/C relay to the
compressor clutch, nothing else in the circuit. Should be easy to check with
an ohm meter.
