97 Wrangler Sound Deck
The sound deck on my 97 Wrangler has died. It would seem that the
gigantic hole in my old top allowed water to get into the cheesy 50
watt amp. Does anyone know the pinout of the plug that hooks this
thing to the stock system? I'm toying with just mounting a real amp to
it and wiring it into my system. I've got good speakers in the fronts
and the sound bar so I was thinking a couple of hundred watts might do
me some good. If I can use the Sound Deck wiring harness all I'd have
to do is run a better power lead back from the battery. Has anyone
else ever gone down this road?

Re: 97 Wrangler Sound Deck
I don't have the specific info you need but there are pigtails that fit into
Jeep radios for aftermarket amps and changers.
Your local stereo shop would be a good first call.

Re: 97 Wrangler Sound Deck
Thanks so much! That will let me get where I need to be. It looks
like they are using the same color scheme on the plug at the sound
deck. Makes sense, I guess, since it is situated between the radio and
the speakers by way of a long adapter cable.
