97 Wrangler 4L steering click sound
I m from Beirut Lebanon
Bought 5 months ago 1997 4 liter auto transmission Wrangler 44 110 miles
a real great monster but had some strange noise coming from the
front =
the sound comes from the front while driving and steering minor
steers especially when i start to steer both sides and steering 10 or
15 degrees will trigger a one shot noise a "tttack "noise coming from
the suspension . continuing to steer won t trigger the noise or steering
while not movin. we checked the wheel balance and many mechanic shops
tried to fix .
even one of them changed my swaybar links and the result was the
same. another one changed the curved rod steering shaft and didn t
work. another one changed the silent blocks of the front suspension
and still the sound triggers. the car is stable and steers precisely.
shocks are good and the jeep is stable. but drivin on straight road and
playing with the steerin wheel R L R L will trigger the " tacck "
sound . PLEASE ANY ONE WITH A HINT ?

I would say with all the mechanics checking out that's not a
problem to worry about. My only guess is the a rock caught in you
serpentine belt, or a weak spot. Might good ahead and change it seeing
you probably have a hundred thousand on it.
