Hey Thanks. I am expecting a call from the mechanic any time now with
the damage report. Thanks for all the response. I am not a mechanic by
any stretch of the imagination nor do I have wads of cash spilling out
of my pockets, so I try to gather as much info as possible to help me
get through these problems I am having with it. I have only had this
Jeep for a month or so and I want it running right. I really enjoy it!!

Get yourself a Factory Service Manual on paper or CD, you can use a
Chilton's or Haynes for many things but the FSM is the best reference.

Ask Santa for some hand tools from Sears...(or Home Depot or Lowes or NAPA)
Tools made in Red China will damage both your Jeep and yourself when they
slip and break The first time you use a tool it will be paid for....a good
basic tool set is about $100.

Most Jeep maintenance does not require a computer and thousand dollar black
boxes .... just the same wrenching that your dad and grand dad performed...

Specialized tools are available for rent at many auto parts stores either at
low or no cost (with a deposit)

If you have ANY interest in taking your Jeep off-road there are Jeep or 4x4
clubs everywhere with members who run everything from stockers to heavily
modifieds.... generally speaking these guys (and gals) love to take things
apart.
