Body lifts can be extremely difficult depending on your local rust
quotient. The bolts have a tendency to snap or spin the hidden nuts.

If you do go that route, 2" is max for safety, 1" is better or just
leave it stock and lift the suspension.

I have a 3" suspension lift on my CJ7 which clears my 33X9.5 BFG muds
just fine. I never tag. A YJ needs a bit more than a CJ for the same
clearance, but your 3 or 4" suspension lift will do it fine.

Stock rims should run up to a 10.5" wide tire, but some folks squeeze a
12.5" on there.

I run in sand and swamp lots and love the tall skinny rubber. I
basically don't spin because the narrow track grabs the dirt so well so
I just cruise on through. My CJ7 will walk up sand pit walls just
chugging along at 500 or 600 rpm without spinning rubber. If you spin,
you are sunk.

Folks with wide 'flotation' tires do OK in the sand until they spin,
then they dig holes really fast. The wider tire has less PSI on the
ground patch so it floats better but also spins 'way' easier.
