91 comanche problem
have this problem with my 91 comanche 2.5L. The engine rotates but will
not start. I hooked up a spark tester and noticed no spark from any line
and replaced ignition coil, but still no spark. The book says that it could
be The ECU (engine control unit)since there is no control moduale on my
year. My question is, where is this ECU located and bout how much will it
cost me to replace it? I also notice on the key on, key off code retriever
does not work anymore. It also mentions that the ECU and PCM are one and
the same. Will appreciate any advice.

Ok, did some searching on google groups for older news posts and came up
with problems pertaining to the Auto shutdown relay. It seems somewhat
similar. I pulled pump out cause I couldnt hear it when the key turned
thinking it was a bad pump, but I tested it on the battery and the fuel
pump worked. Then tested for spark. None whatsoever, replaced coil, still
the same. How does one test the ASD relay? And.....bout how much does one
cost?

Re: 91 comanche problem
That could be a dead body ground disconnecting the computer from the
engine. It is a wire mesh cable that runs from the rear of the head to
the firewall.
I test them by using a booster cable hooked from the battery negative to
the firewall to see if it starts up.
The ECU is inside the distributor.
