90 YJ, passenger door adjustment, and front driveshaft
Got two questions,
my passenger door isnt flush, to the body, is there a way to bring it in flush, any "jam" adjusting? , next, my front driveshaft, at the slip-joint, NOT at the universals, Not at the axle, Not at the transfer case. has slop in it, not when you turn it, but if your on the ground looking up, and push it up and down, or side to side, about 1/8 slop,,,,,ok maybe a 1/4 is this normal?? is it toast? replace? or rebuild? .. probably not, as whoever had this jeep before realy believed in beating on it. johnp now a new and improved altinator ground, and pumpin them volts out. |

The door latch post might be adjustable if you have the belt loop
remover style. It uses a torx in the center and likely vise grips on the outside to loosen it then it shifts in a circle for adjusting how hard and far in that side of the door fits. The lower hinge sometimes ------s letting the door get out of line too. The slop in the driveshaft is normal, make sure you grease it. Re: 90 YJ, passenger door adjustment, and front driveshaft
Hi Mike,
Slop in my slip joints is not normal, there's nearly zero in my Bronco with three hundred thousand. But then I grease them along with the hood and door hinges and all other moving parts before they become loose.
