Hi Dave,
Geez, I've never seen anything like it except bent push rods on a
Chevy. The only thing I can think of is if the bridge was bent out of
alignment, like maybe you used a short 3/8" socket and breaker bar that
bound against it. Maybe the bridge didn't completely fall into their
alignment groves in their pivot blocks:

Chevy. The only thing I can think of is if the bridge was bent out of

Bill, I have come to think about it. Those are the kind of rockers you
have to hold in place while tightening them down so they center. They
can float sideways under torque if you don't hold them in place.
What gets to me is the photo of the block. He is having overheating and
air in the coolant troubles and I see 3 blown frost plugs in that photo!

At least, you brought it to his attention, he can't procrastinate
any longer. The rust color indicates the block is clogged with
sentiment, so knocking them and blasting it with a water hose should do
wonders.

At least, you brought it to his attention, he can't procrastinate
any longer. The rust color indicates the block is clogged with
sentiment, so knocking them and blasting it with a water hose should do
wonders.
