To prep (assuming existing paint isn't peeling and no repairs required):
1. Remove any trim or decals.
2. Clean with soapy water, let dry.
3. Mask off uninvolved areas.
4. Sand lightly with 400 grit paper until gloss is gone.
5. Remove masking
6. Wash all dust away. Let dry.
7. Mask off uninvolved areas. Use automotive-grade tape.
8. Wear a quality respirator.
9. Spray on paint evenly. Release the trigger when changing directions.
10. Let dry.
11. Remove masking, reapply trim.
Best if you use a professional quality paint gun, but you could probably
get away with rattle cans. You're just gonna scratch it all to hell on
the trails anyway, right?

Buy a couple of rattle cans of the more expensive epoxy paint, it's
almost impossible to screw up. All though you could call yourself the
Black Widow, cool CB handle.
