Good advice.
If you don't want to buy the kit, it's pretty easy to rig up a cable pull yourself. I used an old PTO cable, a scrap of plate, a bolt, a small hose clamp, and four nuts: http://xjeep.dyndns.org/posilok I reused the crap aluminum shift fork. Works okay for now, but I'll upgrade to a cast iron fork if it gets too sloppy.
