2002 Wrangler Radio

Has anyone figured out how to get copied(burned) cd's to play in this thing.
I have the system with the 3 band equalizer and the cd player with the sub
woofer in the center console. I know the owners manual warns that not all
cd's will play in this system. That includes some store bought cd's as well.
This is the only thing I don't like about my Jeep.

Also, besides using an FM modulator does anyone know how to hook an Mp3
player or satellite radio into this system?

Thanks

I put one of these in my 93 YJ
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...454051,00.html
had to cut out the dash a bit, but it plays MP3, WMA and burned discs.
The extra wattage makes the oem speakers sound good to :-)

Re: 2002 Wrangler Radio

Lots of questions. Answers:

1. It isn't an MP3 player. It won't play those.
2. You'd have to see if there are RCA jacks on the back (or an auxilliary
plug in the front/back) to hook in the MP3/Satellite radio into.

It's probably be easier just to buy a new head unit. Don't forget --
satellite radio requires a decoder. So if you buy a head unit that's "XM"
or "Sirius" ready, that just means it has controls (except for an AIWA unit
that costs $$$$). You still have to put the antenna on the outside of the
vehicle and mount a small box (about an inch thick and 6 or so inches
length/width -- depends on model) inside to decode the signal (again, except
for with the AIWA -- I think -- model).

Sorry, I did a LOT of research on XM radios before I bought one for my
wife's XJ. In the end it was easiest just to get the FM modulator. Works
well. I might get the part that attaches between the antenna cable and head
unit to increase the reception -- most frequencies are very close to an
already used one causing interference.

Just google it.

Re: 2002 Wrangler Radio

Cough up the FM mod with an ipod. Got to pay if you want to play kind of
thing.

Only other option is an tape player connection for the mp3 player. That i
know of anyway.

Ipod really is the best. My sister has one, with the FM mod. Can't go wrong.
Esp when you have approx 4,000 MP3's.Use it as a hard drive too. 40gig is
the standard I believe. Haven't checked in a while.

Guess those guys at RIAA don't have this problem in the limo. ;-)

I'm sure you know this but make sure u are using CD R and not CD RW, as this
can be a big deal.

You could buy a new head unit if you like it but if you like your current
system and have a bunch of MP3's and can get a snazzy ipod? Why not?

Lastly almost no one gets their stock head unit stolen..
