Dont think there is any indication yet that they are unreliable.

Did you ever consider a used late model Grand (2000/01)? They can be
found fully loaded for about the same price as a 02 Liberty. I put my
girlfriend into a 2000 Grand Limited and she's never been happier. We
got a 4/40K bumper-to-bumper warranty on it out the door for just over
$19K.
