Also clean the throttle body idle air passage.
Holding your foot down on a fuel injected vehicle is not the
same as a carb. A foot-down start tells the computer something is
wrong with the sensor circuit and puts the computer into a limp
mode while it tries to start the engine. Since it isn't keeping on
running there is something wrong and should be a trouble code set.
Pull the codes.
http://www.wjjeeps.com/faultcodes.htm
ignition on-off-on-off-on
then record what comes up on the odometer. Yours should send codes there.

I would be checking the wire mesh strap from the head to the firewall on
it also.
