1992-XJ-LIFTING EYES?
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW EXACTLY WHERE ON MY INLINE SIX THAT I HOOK UP
THE CHAIN FOR HOISTING ENGINE OUT OF BODY? I NEED TO PULL ENGINE WITH TRANSMISSION, OR DO YOU GUYS SEPERATE THE TWO COMPONENTS? I WOULD THINK IT'S EASIER TO LIFT BOTH OUT TOGETHER. JEFF |
Re: 1992-XJ-LIFTING EYES?
Hi Jeff,
You may want to rethink pulling it as a unit, unless you're going to remove the grille it'll have to tilt pretty bad, and be higher than any cherry picker could go, as you may see in these pictures: http://www.jeepaholics.com/tech/25to40/25to40.htm You may see the balance point is back pretty far: http://home.fnbnet.net/~moomesa/Asse...is%26power.jpg I would split them, and bolt a loop through the intake or use one of their bolts removing it's bridge for strength and another loop around the pan, bolting that someplace to limit it's sliding. Re: 1992-XJ-LIFTING EYES?
it seems pretty hard to seperate the two in the sense that the bolts from
tranny to engine are difficult to access. am i correct in saying this? that's what leads me to bring out the "pig" in one piece. jeff |

Cut a hole through the floor board to reach the bolt just above the
starter.
