well, you've got me curious about it again, so I looked up in the
service manual, section 8W for the wiring diagrams, page YJ 47. Here's
what it says:
http://www.mukyj.com/diagrams/fsm/94_YJ-74.pdf
"Behind right speaker grille above airvent door on blower housing" and
it should have 3 16ga wires going to it: Tan, Light Green, and Black/Tan.
The parts diagram looks like it might also be helpful:
http://www.mukyj.com/diagrams/parts/94_24-605.pdf
Part number is 55035958, and ChryslerPartsDirect.com has them, but with
shipping it'd be cheaper to order it at the dealer's parts department.
I wish I'd have thought to check this out when I had the dash loose to
replace the front speakers...

Well, as it turns out, no need to dig or tear apart anything; I decided
to grab a flashlight and take a look based on the diagrams above, and
the resistor is one of the most visible components of the heating system
aside from the controls:
http://www.mukyj.com/images/BlowerResistor.jpg
All this fuss, and it's been right under my nose the whole time. :)

That's it. Thanks. I don't even know if we have Jeep dealers in this part
of Colorado. It would cost at least $10.00 to get to one and back, even in
the Civic. Price from ChryslerPartsDirect.Com, $2.87. Shipping, TBD.

Re: '04 Wranlger AC/Htr Fan Issue
That's it. Thanks. I don't even know if we have Jeep dealers in this part
of Colorado. It would cost at least $10.00 to get to one and back, even in
the Civic. Price from ChryslerPartsDirect.Com, $2.87. Shipping, TBD.
