Yep. and now they are talking about the
landrover and how it decended from a jeep.

Never knew the landrover had that much
history.. heh..

"it had an aluminum body and didn't rust."

I guess "real jeeps rust" ? :)

Hi Doug,
It still gave Jeep a lot of credit. There's an old documentary about
the Baja one thousand that had Actor James Garner racing his Jeep, that
I thought it may lead to, but no such luck. Thanks.

Bill, I remember when I was in elementary school seeing a documentary at the
movie theater about the Baja, but don't remember much about it, except that I
remember the title as possibly being "The Quick and the Dead?" Is that the one
you are referring to? This would have been sround '78 or so...

Hi Matt,
That's too radical a name, and it's one of his westerns, I can't
imagine them giving Garner any credit in the documentary, it was kind of
like "On Any Sunday" which was about dirt bikes, that caught Actor Steve
McQueen riding incognito.

That's -------- - the Aluminium does rot, especially where it meets the
steel body. Secondly, the upper doors and tailgate are steel and rust like
hell, as does the largely unpainted chassis.

I don't know about your English products, but I'd never heard of an
unpainted chassis, before it was pointed out that Chrysler, didn't even
paint the underside of their TJ tubs. Rambler used to dip the whole body

painted underneath and my CJ it was like new forest green:
