My 2002 TJ heater kicks butt, which is why I have gone the last 2 years
procrastinating and not putting the hard top on.

That's what I'd try. I've got a great pair of hiking boots that I've
had for about 15 years and recently the sole of one split. Took it to a
cobbler in the mall and got new Vibram soles put on for about $70. Kind
of pricey but about a quarter of what a new pair of boots would cost and
I get to keep my old boots.

cobbler in the mall and got new Vibram soles put on for about $70. Kind
of pricey but about a quarter of what a new pair of boots would cost and
I get to keep my old boots.
