You shouldn't hear any bangs.

Do you hear it when you make sharp turn?

Post some pics.

Yup, poor gas mileage. Wife has a 2004 liberty, not much better gas mileage on the highway than my 2002 TJ. RPMs do flare up a bit. No odd banging sounds though. Noticed rust forming all along the weld seam though when you open the back hatch. Forming from one hinge all the way to the next. Paint lifting, pushed on some & rust fell into my hand. Now she's trying to get me to drive the Liberty & her the TJ....NOT!!!

Thanks JeepMojo. Put the winch on 3 weeks ago, then went breaking trail at buddy's camp, stuck twice (mud & snow flying everywhere), was a blast. used winch twice, worked like a charm. Daughter keeps saying I'm "pimping out" my Jeep cuz I added KC Highlights to the windsheild, lol...drawing the line at the mexican dingle ***** hanging from the windsheild though, hehehe.

As for wiring diagram, get a "Haynes Repair Manual", has the diagram for mine anyways. Handy book for many things, although most of the tips & hints on repair & add ons I got from this forum....it's a great place for info!
