Default Gearbox oil presure

Hi all,
I have a 2005 Liberty 2.8 lt.
I have had a slow leak on the auto box cooler pipes for 5 years, it leaks 1 cup full in a year and this is why I haven't changed it.

but things changed yesterday, I had left the lights on and flattened the batterie, I jump started it with a friends car, and left it ticking over in park for 45 mins to charge it up. then I moved it slowly 60 foot, as soon as it started moving transmission oil squirted on the floor, in 10 mins of running 1Lt cane out, Could the gear box have become hot and the pressure valve jammed increasing the pressure and pumping out 1Lt of oil?

Its strange I stoped the engine for 5 min's and the leakage has gone back to what it was very little. Could the auto gearbox relief valve have stuck shut, or did the oil get hot because it was in PARK for so long?
