Default 2007 Liberty Cigarette Lighter Power

Anyone aware of a way to make the cigarette lighter power off when the Jeep is turned off. It is made to provide power even when off, but this sucks when using a GPS or satellite radio. I do not see a way to adjust the fuse, but maybe I am missing something. Thanks

I thought the cigarette lighter on all jeeps was on the accessory circuit, the power outlet is live all the time. If yours is indeed live all the time you could just re-wire it to receive power from the accessory wire at the radio (assuming you will only use it for low power items like gps etc.)

I think it depends on the Jeep. If it has 2 power outlets/cigarette lighters, one of the covers should have a key, the other the battery. Self explanatory, key one shuts off with key off, battery stays live.

Of course easiest way to avoid any mods would be to simply turn off the GPS and SAT radio however, from personal experience this sometimes gets missed, and that dreaded next morning dead battery before work occurs.

I'd check aftermarket too Mark, I looked and Mopar doesn't sell a kit to change it but there might be some type of media hub out there that you can hook up your GPS and SAT radio to.
