Hi there! The other day we had bad news for our 02 liberty. The mechanic said a piston is not functioning properly and that would be an expensive cost or we could change the engine but it would be about the same price, around CAD 5000. The thing is, it is usually better to buy another car when the fixingcost is over the car's value. However, this car has 140000 km... What it is not much, so it's why I'm still hesitant to fix it before buying a new one. This car is the only one that can pull our pop up trailer and these news are changing our plans for the summer... What do u think out there?

 

If ever you would replace it what model/brand would you choose?

 

I am thinking of Toyota, Nissan or kia. I need a car that can tow a small trailer though... A friend has a KIA Sorento.. I found it could b a good fit... Love the Toyota 4 runner or Nissan pathfinder...

 

Can anyone give me leads on how to search for an engine for my Jeep Liberty 2002 gas 3.7l in Canada? Still resisting the idea of letting it go. It is still running, only driving in town and hoping that it can go through the winter. I have already tried a shop, but they found one in USA and it was too expensive. I am also looking for someone who sells a similar car in my area....but this is not likely to happen since I live in Yukon.

Any tips are welcome.

Chk out kijiji.ca search Jeep Liberty I notice some in Sask maybe other places for parts. Is there any offroading clubs up there
that might be able to help or maybe give you some tips on where to buy?
