The first time you put on the soft top, could be a pain in the ***. Problem is that the leather has never been stretched yet. Make a search on YouTube for Jeep soft top installation, the video from Bestop is well done and easy to follow. The paper instructions that come with the Jeep might not be enough. Gook luck!

Re: What did you do to your JK this w/e.

Debred: it won't take three hours to put it on. It may take an hour or so. However, it will be helpful to have a second pair of hands for the hardtop.

Also, when installing the softtop, let it sit in the sun for a bit. It will help with the stretching.

Good luck.

I don't have my Jeep yet (I get it Tuesday), but I did build a shed in my yard to store all my Jeep stuff. eg. door's, hard top, factory bumper, pressure washer...you get the idea.

Pics of the shed and size? I have a thing for sheds. Did you get a prefab one or build from scratch? I wanted to build one from scratch but got a deal on a prefab one from work.

No picture needed, it was just a crappy Rubbermaid Resin plastic shed. 7' X 7', but it was only $200 so I bought it.

Well I started on the weekend and finished during the week if this counts. Installed AEV front bumper, rear bumper, tire carrier and undercoated the entire beast with Krown. Today I started working on modifying the factory third brake light to work with the AEV tire carrier. It may or may not work. Still unsure about it.

Had the soft top installed....got a quote from the dealer for $144.00 1.5 hour job....ha, did I get a deal or what !!! Took them alot longer than that, but a quote is a quote....Now to figure out how it works !!! Will wait till it warms up before I attempt that....took them awhile to stretch everything. Looks great !!! All ready for Go Topless Day !!!

Well the weekend isn't over yet, but I managed to Pull the soft top and doors off again. Yes I pulled the soft top completely out, I just think it looks better gone. Turns out last time I put the soft top on I over tightened one of the knuckles, so ordered some of those and some new floor mats from quadratec.
$90.00 shipping to Canada! Stupid!
Anyways I will also be ordering the Tuffy Security Deck this week from Northridge...free shipping and in Canada = :0)

I'm just curious as to what soft top takes that long to install.

Well if they had never done the soft top and followed the instructions I can see it taking that long. I read the intructions that came with mine and the ones on the DVD. They were absolute garbage, first thing they told me in the section clearly marked install soft top, was to remove soft top. I did that thinking there was some sort of unfolding or process involved to prep the soft top for install...there was not. Anyways the instructions in the complete pdf version of the users manual was proper. Worst instructions ever!

I just got the Rugged Ridge light bar myself, but instead of 3, I'm going with 5 Hella's. Haven't got it installed yet. How do you find the wind noise?

From the light bar and lamps ????.........none but did find a little noisy when front windows are cracked about an inch, quite a roar. Solved it with weathertech side window deflectors. If you go this route make sure you get the deflectors that sit in the window track and not the ones that sit on the door frame.

Had a 2.5 inch teraflex lift kit installed. Built a cart to store the hard top on (sits vertical to save space in the shed). Took the hardtop off and put the soft top on... All in all... an excellent Jeep week!!
