Re: ventilation

Morning,
JT. Fair enough comment on the tire pressure (70 PSI). I SHOULD do the chaulk test. Thanks, Peter

If your windows are fogging up a lot, get the RainX Defogger window treatment. Worked for me.

That only applies to factory size tires, as specified on the door as well.

tires

but if you are using what came with the vehicle ,those specs should be ok .Mine were the 17in BSW off road
at 37 psi each

Re: ventilation

Hey ! I have a question and maybe someone can help . I plan on doing the chalk test as soon as we get to good pavement on our drive to Florida this Wednesday . I have 285/70/17 GoodYear Duratracs and was thinking if my chalk test indicates I have too much pressure and I let it out my Low Tire Pressure light will likely come on again as I just added air to make it go off. I have 35psi all around right now on my brand spanking new Nascar Digital Tire Gauge LOL Now I'm wondering what to do if this happens....run the minimum pressure to turn off the light and suck it up ?

Re: ventilation

You must do what is best for the tires, not the TPMS. The dealer can adjust the TPMS slightly and with that size tire you may be OK. They cannot adjust down to 27PSI for 35s. Personal, my wheels don't even have the TPMS sensors installed. IMHO they are a PITA in the changing temps that we have here and Nitrogen doesn't control the expansion and contraction enough i.e. in cold weather one side of the Jeep in the sun the other in the shade, alarm goes off. Out of 3 Jeeps with this system and nitrogen filled tires, they still alarm. I just ignore that little light on the dash.

Thanks Jeff. Actually it was the wife who called me and said she had a flat tire....I said "WHAT ???" she said "yup , the flat tire light is on !! I said " did you happen to look out and see that flat tire ??" You get the rest of the story !! LOL
I sort of like all the neat gadgets on the Jeep but like anything its a PITA when they screw up !
